Hi! My name is Claire and I am an Inorganic Chemistry PhD student at the University of Oxford. Hi! My name is Claire and I am an Inorganic Chemistry PhD student at the University of Oxford. For my undergraduate, I succesfully achieved a First Class degree in Chemistry from the University of Warwick. A-Levels and GCSE's were something that I had to go through without the benefit of having a tutor for assistance; as a result I was often stressed and anxious, and tended to second guess my work. Now, after 4 years at University studying diligently and improving my social/academic skills, I know the best tips and tricks to get the top grades at GCSE/A levels all whilst ensuring a comfortable, friendly environment. I always encourage my students to stay curious and to always ask questions. I also provide extra resources to help you, the student, understand concepts you may be struggling with. I have chosen to study chemistry because it's something I really enjoy and never get bored with! So much so that I intend to continue researching in the field of Chemistry/green energy during my PhD and hopefully beyond that too. With science there's always something new to learn, and new discoveries to be had which is something I hope to impart onto my students.
I will tailor tutorials specific to each student, focusing on your weaker points as well as covering the overall modules covered by their exam board. As your tutor I would like to start off with an introductory call and highlight the aspects of your course that you are unsure of or would like me to cover. I would also like to discuss the manner of study you prefer e.g. more visuals/more text/practice questions/animation. Once I know what you need I will then create each tutorial so that they...
Once I know what you need I will then create each tutorial so that they can be effective and personal to you. Additionally I can send you any extra material you need via this website. Remember, no question is a stupid question, so feel free to contact me about any queries you have! I want to be able to test your knowledge rather than your memory, so at a time convenient to you I would like to schedule a tutorial where I can quiz you on topics that we have learnt. Most importantly I'm here to help you get you to where you want to be. Open dialogue and a friendly approach to subjects like maths/physics/chemistry can make all the difference to a student, and I'm confident that you'll excel under my tutelage.
We only take tutor applications from candidates who are studying at the UK’s leading universities. Candidates who fulfil our grade criteria then pass to the interview stage, where a member of the MyTutor team will personally assess them for subject knowledge, communication skills and general tutoring approach. About 1 in 8 becomes a tutor on our site.
