My motivation to become a tutor stems from my previous experience working as a language assistant at a school. In this role I spent a year giving language and law lessons to sixth form students, helping them prepare for exams and work on their study techniques, in addition to providing fun and creative ways for them to learn new subject skills.
Having returned to my studies this year, after a year out working at the school, I have thoroughly missed the opportunity to bring the best out of students in the way I was able to last year. Having also gathered experience from my own time studying, as well as the advice received from colleagues last year, I believe I am now in a better position than ever to tutor and support young individuals looking to take their next step academically.
My ability to understand and relate to the positions that students find themselves in, especially around exam periods, from having experienced it first hand or having helped others in a similar situation puts me in a strong position to be able to work around any possible problems you may be facing.
I like to run my lessons in a structured and professional manner, using techniques I learnt from highly qualified colleagues, during my year working at one of the top grammar schools in the country.
I highly value getting to know the way my students learn and think, in order to maximize their potential. Getting the best out of the students is important to me, as I want to spread my understanding and enthusiasm for my subjects, as well as being a part of the student's aspired success...

I highly value getting to know the way my students learn and think, in order to maximize their potential. Getting the best out of the students is important to me, as I want to spread my understanding and enthusiasm for my subjects, as well as being a part of the student's aspired success. I appreciate that often it can be a struggle to engage with a subject that you are finding difficult, which is a reason why I try and keep my lessons varied and enjoyable, to make sure the student does not feel overwhelmed by, but rather, is eager to put into practice the information I am teaching.
Constantly, revisiting and building on already acquired skills in new and exciting ways, which link to the new topics or aspects I am wanting to cover, is the way in which I am able to track progress of my students and check for areas where the learning needs to further be consolidated.
