Hello, I am Alina, and I am currently in my second year of study for a BA in English Literature and History at the University of York.

I would love to work with students struggling with confidence in their studies in English Language, Literature or History (for GCSE and A-level).

I aim to make the tutoring sessions conversational and exciting, helping them build confidence. This will allow them to improve and hopefully find the content engaging. Even when teaching content for exams, I believe there is a way to make the work engaging by finding areas that the student is interested in academically and using this as a springboard when teaching. I aim to help students find enjoyment and stimulation in their work that can be lost when under the pressures of the school system. The student would tell me what they are looking for out of the session, helping to focus and improve on precisely what the student needs, whilst using literary extracts or historical sources to then practice essay planning. I am here to aid the student and help them so that they can confidently and ambitiously tackle both exams and class discussions, and am happy to provide example essays from when I was learning the subject and to review the student's essays with them.
