Hello! My name is Lesley, and I am a 4th year Neuroscience student at the University of St. Andrews. I grew up speaking two languages (Polish and English) and I'm now learning two more (Spanish and German). Languages have always been a key part of my life. However, the biological aspect of how languages affect the brain and mind is what really interests me. In high school I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma, allowing me to explore the English language on a new level. Apart from languages I also love being active. I'm currently part of the volleyball recreational team and jujitsu club. In my free time I also enjoy reading or taking pictures. I look forward to helping students in a relaxed manner!

I have experience with tutoring children of all ages. I use a variety of resources to ensure the student feels comfortable with the material. I believe the best way of improving is through practice. Therefore, writing and active reading are aspects I like to focus on. I will go through common questions point by point, as well as ensure the student has a clear understanding of how to properly plan an essay or analysis. It is vital to not only understand the theory but also test our skills by looking at past exams. Through thorough practice in writing essays, examining mark schemes and constant feedback I learned some tips for better understanding IB English (language & literature). I look forward to helping others achieve great results and expand their knowledge!
