Hi everyone, I'm Ed. I am currently in my second year of university after finishing my A-Levels with great results. I have always had a passion for maths, computer science, and problem solving which is why I chose such technical fields for my studies. As a result, I have gained a profound understanding of many topics that are taught in school and believe I can definitely help students understand them better, and help unlock their full potential.

As a result, I have gained a profound understanding of many topics that are taught in school and believe I can definitely help students understand them better, and help unlock their full potential.
During my A-Levels, I became an anti-bullying ambassador in my school which meant that I was working with students from all years in order to prevent an ongoing issue that occurs in many forms. This gave me experience in working with younger students and the understanding that problems like that can affect a student's school life. This can lead to a decreased performance in learning which is why I think I can help students understand the topics a lot better as I will be working at their pace, while also trying to push them to their full potential. In addition, I was also a teaching assistant which taught me ways in which to approach problems in order to have students understand it better which is why I think my methods would help a lot.
Working with students in the past has been a great experience and I think that with my knowledge, I could help students understand the key topics better, catch them up to their piers, and give great tips on how to become a better self-learner.
In my first few lessons I like to do some coverage over the syllabus and understand the student's skill level and how they understand the subject. I usually do this by completing a past paper and noting down some key topics to work on with students. Once that has been established, I go down the list of topics and stick to the syllabus of their exam boards to efficiently get through the concepts with the student.

In my lessons, I will usually talk through the topic I am working with the student, give an example question and model answer, then let the student practice some questions using the example I just gave to get them more familiar with it. Then slowly increase the difficulty of practice questions I give. I also incorporate some worksheets from websites like physicsandmathstutor as I myself have used those for revision and truly find them helpful.
I also frequently do more past papers with students forther down the line, to teach exam skills and get familiar with the layout of the questions so they're familiar with it once the exams come.
