Hello, my name is Sam, and I am completing my Masters in Applied Mathematics at Imperial College London, having achieved First Class Honours in my undergraduate. What I love about my subject is that I get the chance to take even the most abstract methods I've learnt in maths and apply them to the natural world in a productive way. I've always enjoyed helping people to find some pleasure in studying where they may not have done previously, and encouraging students to tackle problems and questions which they may find challenging - which I've certainly found can be a very rewarding pursuit. I have been working with MyTutor for the past year, but have been tutoring for longer.

My sessions follow a structure dependent on the student's needs. You might need an in-depth introduction to a concept (either a new one or to jog your memory) which would typically be followed by some initial exercises to test your understanding. Once students are sufficiently confident, we can then work on some more comprehensive and perhaps more challenging problems from textbooks and past papers. If a student is comfortable with most content, we can focus on the hardest problems in particular to really push you towards your goals - this is a part that I find particularly exciting. If desired, I've also been happy to write out tailored homework tasks for students in the past and mark them. I'm also more than happy to provide questions which I've written myself before exhausting other resources for practice questions.
