Hello! My name’s Isla and I’m currently in my third year of my five-year integrated masters degree in immunology at the University of Glasgow. This is my third academic year of tutoring and I absolutely love the job! I’ve always loved science, and over the years have developed a passion for humanities as well, and as a result I have taken university classes in biology, chemistry, Scottish and English literature which have given me well rounded skills that I hope to transfer into my teaching. Outside of my studies, I’m the secretary of the university traditional music society and string ensemble where I play the fiddle/violin. I’m very outgoing and love working with people, and hope in the future to become a full time teacher, so am looking forward to gaining experience and working as a tutor.

We only take tutor applications from candidates who are studying at the UK’s leading universities. Candidates who fulfil our grade criteria then pass to the interview stage, where a member of the MyTutor team will personally assess them for subject knowledge, communication skills and general tutoring approach. About 1 in 8 becomes a tutor on our site.
